I guess this is going to be the new style with the new owners? Flashy animations and lots of money spent on graphic design to make games look pretty well beyond the point where it helps and instead makes the game less playable.

I wish there was any way to turn off the:

* Background image on the table
* extra colours bordering various areas of the screen
* animations of cards doing acrobatics across the screen
* sounds of plinking and slapping whenever people do things (I still want sound on so I know when it's my turn like all the other games in on BGA)

Also the "see remaining costs" is awful to have on all the time but it would be actually kind of handy as a quick feature. Something like "hold shift down" or something like that.

Basically if we can get this game to match the graphic style of other games on BGA rather than the flashy children's toy style. That would be nice.

Create a suggestion (community > bug/suggestion) and let's see how many player upvote it. If you are the only one over 1 000 000 games already played, then I guess that means that players like these "flashy animations"

If you want to do this for all games across the site then click in your avatar in the top-right to get the drop-down menu, go to Preferences, and in the Advanced tab paste the following into the big text area and save:

This may have undesired consequences in some other games.

FWIW, I don't think it's a question of the new owners. Some games which were on the site before the new owners (e.g. The Crew) do similarly splashy things. It might be a request from the publisher, or it might be the preference of the individual games' developers.
