According to the faq, the only way to gain karma:
Each time you finish a game, if your clock has never been negative during this game, you get +1☯.

So, if I just got a negative 10 in 7 wonders, am I never again able to earn karma in 7 wonders, or is it only the actual timer in a that given game, and the next I play will gain 1 pt back?

Only actual game timer. Play 10 games in time and you'll get 100% again
