Ten in your tribe is the most you can have.
Is there any way you can indicate that you cannot add more to your population before you waste resources trying to do so?
Perhaps a asterisk, or red X's on the hut...
My play group was curious about this, and there didn't seem to be any reason why you would be allowed to play there ineffectually.
The interface plays very smoothly and we encountered no snags in the game even with five players.

Thé rules are allowing to go to a place just to block someone else. So it is normal that you can go to the hut even while already having ten meeples.
I could add a warning in this case.

a warning would make sense, a warning for people who click more than ten irrigation/farms would be worth while too
