Why no head-to-head games?

Browsing through the games catalog, it appear that—other than classic games such as Chess and Backgammon—there aren’t any head-to-head (explicit player-player friction) games. Is there a reason for this, or does the community in general not enjoy these types of games?

(Examples of the types of games in question: Tash-Kalar, Nueroshima Hex, 18XX games)

Those games aren't enough for you?

If it's not, I didn't understood your post.

'Noir' lets you kill your opponent. You can't get much more player-player friction than that!

'Innovation' is also very much about attacking and countering (though there is much more to it). What's more, it's a satisfyingly complex, really well-designed game.

Santorini is a very good 1 vs 1 abstract game (also playable with 2 vs 2), and is on BGA.
"Mr Jack" is on BGA, and it's pretty much a head-to-head investigator VS murderer game.
