Board Game Arena

is there any board game here like dungeons and dragons?

or what resembles an rpg, with professions, dungeons to go, kill monsters in groups, roll dice for attack and defense?
any game with a theme similar to this?

I don't know if you can indicate things from outside here at BGA, but is there maybe another site for us to play something like that?

Going through the game list, Dragonwood and Dungeon Roll seems to be the nearest to what you ask for, though they're not really dungeon crawler (no grid map, etc). I've tried none of them, so I can't guaranty they're actually good.

In general, there is not a lot of "multiple hours" game on BGA, and even less campaign games where you go from scenario to scenario (though there are a few of them, like The Crew, but that's not at all the kind of game you're asking for).

When I want a RPG-like game, there are a few "boardgame simulator" (on steam or on web-browser) that give you all the game component of a game of your choice and let you manipulate them in a 3D virtual environment. I've tried one of them on steam where you could literally play D&D or some dungeon crawler games like Descent. It's kind of awkward, and sometimes dubiously legal, but it works. I've not look through the free web-browser alternative if they have games you want, but since they tend to have more than a thousand different game, there should be at least one game that match your needs.

I only played Dungeon Roll, but it's exactly what you are looking for.

But it stay a board game, and not a 'roleplay adventure'.

I don't think there will be any attempts to bring any RPG engines in to this site - there are some out there, and they all rely upon webcams etc, and I think with this site that would just be lots of server traffic that they don't need

I wouldn't mind seeing a game like Decent or even Dungeon Quest bought to this site, but that may be as close to an RPG as we get
