Would like an option to move the card counter

It would be really nice to have it right next to the center of the play area so that we don't have to scroll down to see it. Alternatively, you could allow us to click on the story text to hide it and put it there.
Also, it would be nice to hide the cards that don't exist in 3p challenge mode when using it.

Yes, you're right. On mobile it would be a great start to just see all of the counter. Not the four outer most cards shaved off
