It would be great to see the number of cards a player has played next to his summoning gauge with the player stats in the upper right corner.

You can count the number of cards visible, but it's easy to miscount, and you have to scroll down to see your opponent's cards in multiplayer games. A simple number next to the summoning gauge would save time and frustration.

I think I know what you're talking about. Divine Chalice with only 1 Summoning Gauge point left.

Rather than displaying the number next to cards played, I would display "phantom cards" that show your available summoning gauge. Mockup below:



I can imagine it would be useful in other games which also have a limit of cards in play.
