For saying i will red thumb a player for being innapropriate in a game and reporting him afterwards because he was agressive in chat when i told him i will red thumb him.

Afterwards i get reported and get a violation.

Can someone please tell me why when saying you will give a red thumb to agressive or a mean player it is a bad thing?

I also did it a few times, to players who I considered that deserved a red thumb.

And i got reported and moderated, just for saying "red thumb".

It could have been considered a rather fair thing: announcing a player that you will red thumb, so you let him/her know and/or so he/she could do the same about you. But no...

Also, the red thumb is a thing the site offers players.
So no insult, no nothing.

I don't see why specifying that in chat, a thing the site offers you, would get a moderation...

This may be because you are adding some unpleasantness to the situation.

Hi folks. Sorry to hear that you are having difficulties with reporting when it seems like you are doing the right thing and instead, you are the one who gets punished. Something similar happened to me which you can read about in this thread. https://boardgamearena.com/forum/viewto ... 20&t=22201.

I have filed 3 reports about a player with multiple accounts who is cheating the system as well as reports on several players who are cheating on Letter Tycoon. None of those reports have been answered. However, I was moderated because the other player reported me. Although I recognize and appreciate the extraordinary amount of time that moderators/administrators/volunteers put into this site, the ruling didn't seem fair and the players who are cheating the system are still carrying on, playing other people and rising to the top of the ratings.

Announcing to someone that you intend to red thumb/report him/her (again, red thumbing and reporting are 2 things the site offers), is moderation-worthy?

I don't know the process exactly, but sometimes players get different punishment even if they're moderated for the same reason.
Sometimes it's a short warning, sometimes karma penalty, sometimes chat ban, etc. It feels quite inconsistent.

People have been moderated for saying "wolf" in a werewolf game (No, I am NOT kidding) .. so apparently ANYTHING is moderation worthy.

Further details are needed. If the player was a wolf and was outing other wolf in a situation that didn't warrant it, then yes, that can be an offense. It might be considered game throwing in the Wolvesville (formerly Werewolf Online) app.

If it was any other role calling someone a wolf, then moderation is broken.

By the way, moderation was discussed in the ask-me-anything stream they did several days ago. I'd suggest checking that out (I don't have a timestamp).

I think you have no idea what you are talking about, sorry :))))

I think the idea expressed above was the simple use of the word itself, nothing involving which role accusing which role. (Some further details would be ok, but let's face it... it sounds very probable that a thing like this would happen - such moderation, in a WWs game, on this site)

As for your idea... let's say a ww calls another ww a "wolf", but after fake claiming The Fortune Teller. Or a ww lover of a villager, trying to get rid of the other WWs, or a simple ww trying to get the village's confidence.

So all these accusations are strategy-wise, and because of the last case mentioned, one can never be accused of game-throwing, to justify such moderation; i really think it's about the word "wolf" itself, like when a player some time ago was moderated for addressing to another player who had the username "this_b***h". Moderated for... saying the username, after some awesome player reported.

Because of this, your defence, in my opinion, has 0 logic. 😇
