Board Game Arena

The blocking system (red thumbs) here on BGA is necessary. However, it needs a few upgrades.

1. There need to be different levels of redthumbing. The highest level is the one we have today. Everything is blocked; playing, chatting and some personal information. The second level blocks all playing, but not other features. Finally, the third redthumb level is specifically targeting single games. Just because you don't want to play a game with a player, that doesn't mean that you don't want to play any games with them.

2. There is a need to create the possibility to add a time limit to a red thumb. If you don't want to play with someone right now, that doesn't mean that you never want to play with them in the future. Everyone can change. Actually, the preselected choice should be a time limited redthumb.

3. There need to be a list of a player's redthumbs, so players can administrate and curate their redthumbs properly.

Indeed, I have played many games of Fluxx against user ElerCant, whom had been mentioned on the forum very often supposedly "playing in an unfair manner" in a totally different game, one which I don't play at all. But in Fluxx, you can't cheat aside from possibly Kingmaking, but even that is a difficult feat.
So I would not Red Thumb ElerCant because I didn't have any negative feedback in my experience with him, but I might hesitate to play other games against him.
