Niche games also interesting for BGA platform

People, including me, of course expect to find the latest and gratest board games on the BGA platform, as for example, one could see how much desired the German "Agricola" was.
But I'd say, that also niche games, so games which are not well-known, are interesting for the platform. For example, I myself implemented "Bao la Kiswahili" here (currently in alpha state), a popular traditional board game in East-African countries, e.g. Tanzania, which most people might never have heard of and which will probably not gather a large player community on BGA. Still - it demonstrably got BGA some newly registered players, since an international Bao club took interest in it.
So, bottom line, I think that additionally to the mainstream board games, also niche games have their eligibility on the BGA platform and should be supported and promoted.

I mean, I suppose I agree with you.
My question would be, what do you want to change? These games already are both getting a platform on BGA. It's not like BGA is blocking games from being on this platform.

I agree ... with both

.
Without BGA, I would have never found Battle of Lits for example, which remains an all time favourite for me. I could give many more examples of niche games that are great.
But ... what exactly is the point of your post?

If developers can license and implement the game for BGA's framework, they are welcome to do so... at this point I believe that most games coming to BGA are NOT created by the actual BGA admins

Well, it wasn't meant to complain about it, I only wanted to express my opinion, that besides the main games from publishers, also traditional games, which are often public domain, are a good thing to be developed for BGA and will, as in my case, also draw new members to BGA, which in turn is good for the platform iteself, so I do hope they also get promoted in news for example.

you make good points, it just was worded in a way that maybe felt like their was more behind it than just "wouldn't this be nice?"
I love seeing some of the classics, vintage & ancient games! (although the rules for my game of Senet differ from the ones implemented here, lolz!)
