Hello, please add in-game add-ons to the game "BANG", for example, "The Magnificent Eight" or "A few more cards", etc. It's much more boring to play without add-ons

. Thanks in advance for your reply

Was getting massively ticked off with my first ever game of Bang because it seemed broken as I could play NONE of cards I had (Bang or Panic) turned out it was due to special abilities of people nearby meaning they were out of range, but it was 3 turns before we worked this out.
If there are no characters in range a message to indicate that would be better for new players learning rather than nothing happening & them thinking it is broken & never playing again which was very nearly the case for me.

Well, the purpose of BGA implementation is not to learn the game while playing, and there might be a ton of reasons one couldnt play this or this card, so this sounds not worth it in term of dev time at all. On the contrary, if someone here want to make a nice tutorial (New feature of bga) for teaching how to play, that would be probably the good tool, so go ahead.

I guess I completely missed the purpose of the site because I do that all the time.

Well I'm not saying you shouldn't do that, I'm juste saying the games are not developped with that in mind, so before getting pissed that the game is broken, make sure you know the rules good enough.
Learning game is more the role of the fresh new "tutorial" feature of BGA where you can learn the game by going through a replay with comments/explanations.

To give a little more perspective in addition to Tisaac's "RTFM"

answer:
We do recommend to have clear error messages when a user takes an action that is not possible at this moment, to help players learn from their mistakes, and to avoid getting erroneous bug reports if the player didn't understand the rule correctly.
That being said, it's not always possible. Especially in the case of ranges, usually it means that actions not in range are not active in the game interface. The player cannot take the action, which means that a clear error message cannot be displayed in these type of cases.
In the case that you describe if I understood it correctly, if nothing is in range at all, a message would indeed be useful for the player understanding IMO. This could be submitted as a suggestion in our tracking system
https://boardgamearena.com/#!bugs (the game forum is not the place for bugs and suggestions, especially in a pre-existing thread on another subject).

I mean even if the message was displayed, it wouldn't change a thing if you dont know how the ranges may get affected. And I cannot compute a message for all possiblr situations explaining why no one is in range.
There is a suggestion to display current ranges that might helps a bit, pleas upvote it if you think this might be useful for new players.
