Offline/online notifications of players

I keep getting notified, in the middle of a game (in the log area!) about another player (in my friends list, I assume) going online..then offline...then online. (To be clear: this person is not in the current game. Totally irrelevant.)
Is there any way to disable this? I really do not need to ever know when someone logs on or off.

Unfriend the person, only.

It‘s really hard to understand why this issue never has been addressed by the site developers till now.
It is a daily annoyance for so many ppl, was reported almost 1 year ago, is one of the top reports, and is addressed in the forum on a regular basis.
And I can‘t imagine that this takes a big amount of time, generously maybe 30min for just disabling them, and 1h for an option button??
Not needing premium for fancy games, the not-handling of such issues is one of the reasons why my urge to go premium doesnt grow.

Hmm that bug report is not very well written. The title "Option Button in Friends" is not clear.
IMHO, it's essentially a bug: friend online/offline should not be in the log for the current game. It's not a question of having an option, it should never be there.
And yeah, as a premium player, it's pretty grating that there are such basic usability issues.
