disable chat box for BANG!

I think the board game BANG! would be more enjoyable if the chat box could be disabled... some are just ruining the fun of the game by revealing their role when it should be kept hidden for everyone to know... frustration when the sheriff shoot the vice... only the action in the game should be the way to reveal our role... thanks

And how would that solve anything ? People can still use any other means of communication they want if they really want to ruin the experience.

I've never played on BGA, but IRL, literally every single player around the table claim to be the vice.
(And arguably, being a good liar is part of the "skill" required in games with secret identities)

Unless peoples trust BGA chat? If peoples always assume that what is in the chat are not lies, then I tend to agree, saying your role in the chat is kind of breaking the game. There is a reason why you cannot show your identity card to other players, there should always be a doubt about your identity up until your death (except for the sherif, obviously).

I concur. In games of experienced players, everyone except deputy and sheriff fakes the identity to undermine the Law.
Even the game FAQ promotes talking. Next time try bluffing your way out.

You cannot reveal your role and prove it, you can also lie about your roll. That is the game. Ot is not just a card game, but also a social game.

In real life you could flip over your rolecard, which is cheating, but in this game, everyone fights with equal advantages. A renegade pretends he is a deputy.

These are the FAQ written by the author of the game:

https://emilianosciarra.it/giochi/bang- ... /faq-bang/

the very first FAQ translated sound like:

D1. Can players talk during the game?

A. Of course! It is one of the funniest aspects of the game. However, one must refrain from asking questions related directly to the cards to be played (for example, it is not allowed to ask the Sheriff directly whether or not he should play a Gatling, or if he has a Missed! In his hand).
