Malicious player

In Pandemic today, a teamwork-based collaborative game, one player was slow to play, ignored (or went against) other player's suggestions, intentionally made moves that thwarted attempts to win the game (including not curing the final disease to end the game) and were insistent the game should be played with no discussion between players! I'm stunned because this player has > 42k XP and has played over 5,500 games! Definitely not the type of behaviour I would expect from such an experienced player.

I marked them with a red thumb and gave a reason (everyone should avoid) but was hoping to have someone moderate (ie. review the chat/play) and can't get to a place where i can explain the full issue. Am I missing something? New here and have had nothing but great interactions with all other players ... tons of kind individuals willing to teach a game and patient players while I get accustomed to the system.

What types of games has the player played? You can't assume they have any concept of what a cooperative game is (as apparently this person doesn't) just because they've played a lot. You red thumbed them. Move on with your life. Hopefully you won't run into similar people again.

Good point, thanx, about the style of games they may have played ... and yes, I clearly have an over-inflated sense of justice! LOL! :geek:

That sounds awful. Unfortunately, it sounds like there is no way to report such players since it can't even count as kingmaking. I think the only way to avoid this problem is to play co-op games with only trusted people because you won't know who's going to turn out to be a troll until it's too late. Btw, it is normal to be annoyed by trolls like that, it does not mean you have an over inflated sense of justice lol.

Thank you very much for describing the problem behavior without naming the player. The forums are not a place to bash people by name.

And, yes, a red thumb so you will never play with them and move on is the best recourse.
