It seems that the player going second has an advantage in Mijnlieff. Is there a way to add the option to play two games with both players going first and second? This would help balance the game I think.

I think this feature would be very beneficial.

There is definitely a benefit to playing second as can be seen in the statistics.

Chess has a bias and therefore it is well accepted that 2 games are needed as a minimum to establish the hierarchy between 2 players. Id suggest that the bias is stronger in mijnlieff and warrants the same approach.

0.46 : 0.54 is an unignorable margin.
Introducing 2-game match might incur a bunch of drawn matches between evenly skilled players though, just like chess.

Draws could be solved by looking at point totals over both matches combined. It is a great tiebreaker for tournaments.

If you start 2 different games you have the risk that one player goes first 2 times.

You could agree with the other player to have a rematch after the game ends. That way you are sure both players start once.

This seems like a great option for arena mode.

Agreed, this would be a great arrangement for arena mode. Functionally like Lucky Numbers I'm arena mode is set up
