Circle strategy v2

Post by Romain672 »

Hi world: https://www.zupimages.net/up/21/42/ckr0.jpg
My last post about that subject was more than one year ago when I was just starting the game. Since then I played more than 100 games, so I'm a lot more used to.

So here is a remember of that strategy:
1) create a trap of 3x4 (or 4x4)
2) close the outside (you can use your big trap as a 'joker' for one or two tiles you wanna 'discard' )
3) close the inside by creating trap of 1x2 or 2x2
4) win

First, bandido is I believe way harder at 1 player. It's like if your hand have 3 in size instead of like 6 or 9.
The point of bandido is to have some weak moments where everyone has bad cards and try to manage those bad cards somehow.
And have some strong moments where everyone try to finish the last exits, while keeping in hand their bad cards.

The point to do a big trap is to increase even more this strong moment by letting you 'discard' some tiles in the big trap that anyone can use, while still trying to close the big exits in the outside.

At one player, I like to use my single exit pretty fast on exits far from others tiles.

Here is five randoms games:

The start goes nicely with an early trap done. You can see it seem really chaostic, but it's because there was lots of annoying tiles drawn. That mean the mid and late game will be easier, which is pretty good.
You can see the leftmost part have lots of exits in the second screen, but only one in the third screen. At this point, the goal is to try to finish the outside pretty soon. So I will use all two exits tiles in the outside, and some of the three exits ones, especially if i can combine two of them to only create one exit left.
At the same time, I will try to commit on that timing: I will discard some of my tiles in the middle trap.
In the fifth screen, the outside is finally closed and I used two tiles in the middle.
Next goal is to separate that 3x2 trap into (most of the time) two 2x1. You can see on the fifth screen a bed (2nd/3 tile) ready to be used, but, at the left of the tile all two copies of the tile has been used. So that would result on a loss. Instead, I can use the third tile as shown in sixth screen to win the game :)

First game: Adapt to the strategy which was fairly bad

So this game start nicely, the outside on the right isn't really nice, but i can work around it.
Then between the third and forth picture, I do something annoying which will force me to be really careful on how to close the bottom right of the trap, but I got a nice close tile just after.
For the end game, that game isn't interresting. As you can see my hand is atrocious, and I win only a lot after.

Third game: Mistake (only loss)

https://www.zupimages.net/up/21/42/3v6g.jpg

This game start really nicely, but then at the second screen, I decide to commit on the middle. And a few tiles after I didn't got what I really wanted, and I lost because I didn't saw I already used two copies of the missing tile, which i could have avoided. I often don't count early on, and that's bad. Sad game :(

Forth game: Strategy worked

https://www.zupimages.net/up/21/42/ckr0.jpg (link at the top)

This game again start nicely, not much things to add, I commited with lots of annoying tiles which goes nicely in the middle.

Fifth game: Adapt to the strategy which wasn't bad
https://boardgamearena.com/archive/repl ... s=84207926;
https://www.zupimages.net/up/21/42/lv64.jpg

This game started nicely, but then goes into a pretty weird spot, but I still managed it finely.

I did again that post, because it was really laborious last time, and didn't liked much the picture I shared neither.

I did 7-0 (7 wins in a row) recently at 1 player with that strategy. But I still think I made so many mistakes, so that feel really good :)
