Preventing players from ejecting others

I've fallen foul - for the second time - of being ejected from a tournament. 4-player game, 2 go through. One player ejected another and that killed the game less than 30% through it. I had the most time remaining, but three players were judged to be "1st" and I happened to be at the bottom of that list of three. I would like the option, when setting up a tournament, of keeping a time limit, but preventing players from ejecting others - let the time limit determine when the game has to end. Thoughts anyone?

That's really tough - for whoever was 3rd in that instance.
I don't think there is an easy solution, a lot of games don't work with a zombie player.
Perhaps the fairest solution might be to restart the game with 3 players, if that's at all possible (for some games like Hearts it's only 4 player), but would also mess with the overall time a tournament takes. You could have the strange situation of game restarts with 12,11,10....3.
Yeah - dunno. Unlucky #3.

my first round of turn based tournaments played fairly well...
my current set has been a lot of split European vs North/South American time zone players and whomever is at the edges loses the most time quite quickly as 1 group plays, goes to sleep and then the other group does the same...
I definitely had 3-4 games where someone waited until they were losing to eject players out of time so that they wouldn't lose...
while it sucks, it's totally within the bounds of the way the site works... I guess if ejecting a player out of time were made to be a consensus of the remaining players (similar to choosing to abandon a game) that would have been much better. I was generally not the one most out of time, so I wasn't directly being hurt, but I would have voted against the ejection realizing that the player instigating it was trying to bend the intent of the rules to allow them to not lose (by points)

Better planned time limits for tournament games (some are way too optimistic) and a fairer tie-breaker (than the current one, where the 1st-placed players with the most time remaining when a game is abandoned go through) would go a long way towards fixing the issue, without needing to ban players from ejecting slow players.
VERY slow players spoil the game for most other people. I've played in tournaments where almost no game ever got finished.
