Halloween event is now available in King of Tokyo !



If you want to play with halloween event :

• Automatic mode : On the game settings (gear icon on the lobby), in "Halloween event" section, set "Enabled" to "I'm okay playing with". If you want to play only Halloween Event, set "Disabled" to "I never want to play with". You can also pick intermediate values to play mostly with Halloween Event.

• Manual mode : set "Halloween event" to "Enabled" when creating the table.

The 2 new monsters added with Halloween event are also available even outside of Halloween event ("Bonus monsters" option).

In your user preferences, you can also choose between halloween or standard background/dice. Automatic means it will set background/dice to match the game settings.

Guess next step are the Evolution Cards and Monster Packs, but obviously that depends on the license.
We'll just wait and be surprised when it happens.

I can tell what will be next, because I don't know it yet, and even if I knew it would probably be a surprise as it was for Halloween
But I have good hopes new surprises will come !

I know you state the new monsters are available outside Halloween week but will the costume cards be available outside Halloween week too? Will there be a separate toggle for “halloween expansion”?

There is no plan to remove Halloween event (costume and their mechanics) after BGA Halloween event. They share the same name but are 2 different things, I know it can be a little confusing. Both Halloween Event and Bonus Monsters options will stay.

Hey Thoun, small suggestion on board setup, for clarity add the word 'costumes'.
Example: Halloween Event (feature costumes): enabled

This way it's clearer for people what feature the Halloween event is about.

And potentialy future events could be 'Power Up (feature Evolution cards)', 'Ctulhu (feature Cultists)', 'King Kong (feature Tokyo Tower)', 'Anubis (feature Curse cards)', 'Cybertooth (feature Berzerk Mode)'.


Edit: expansion, that was the word I was looking for. Not sure if the options can be split into sections?
Monsters:
You could use checkboxes for future additions, but right now you can enable 'base monsters' and 'Halloween Monsters(Boogie Woogie & Pumpkin Jack)
Wit future additions of King of New York Monsters, Pandakai, Mega Shark, Kraken&Cyber Bunny, BABY GIGAZAUR!!!
Pick monster at start of game or randomly.

Game Mechanics:
Expansion Halloween(costumes): enabled
Expansion Power Up(Evolutions), Expansion Monster Packs(x4), Wicked Track(Dark)
Expansion Promo cards, these 11 extra Power Cards are also included in the upcoming King of Tokyo Monster Box release.

Variants:
2 player variant(as introduced in Dark edition)
Whether or not costumes and/or evolutions cards are already dealt out at the start of the game.
For evolution cards each monster has their own set, but there is also a variant where either evolution cards can be totally random from any monster, or if everyone assembles their own set by passing through the decks(you have 8 cards, choose 1, pass 7 cards to the player on your left, you receive 7 cards from the player on your right, choose 1, pass 6 cards to the player on your left, ...)


I know, well aware that Evolutions are not yet agreed upon, but giving examples how you can design it so it is ready for future expansions if ever allowed.

This expansion is tragic.
Please make it explicitly obvious that the game has it....
