Hours of Play?

When setting up a tournament you can specify a certain period as "hours of play (at least thats the translation from german I guess). So e.g. 10.00 to 22.00. But sadly there is no explanation how that exactly work.

1) I assume the clock ticks down only in these hours of play. Is that right?

2) Are these hours of play are bound to the timezone from the person who set up the tournament? Or does it adjust to timezones of other players? So e.g. if I set up hours of play for 12.00 to 24.00 in germany, will it be the same times for e.g. Australians? Or will it be for them in the middle of the night?

Hopefully I could make it clear what I mean and someone maybe knows the answers (especially 2) ).

Thanks

I will be interested to know the answers as well. One tournament the player has 21 hours to make all his turn. If i do not wake up when it is my turn in the middle of the night the clock keeps ticking and I lose time very fast. I am seeing games abandoned because of that.

If you set it to 10 to 22 in germany, the other players will be bound to your timezone and you'll have mostly european players.
The clock doesn't tick during the "night", which is the period outside the interval.
