Twelve times 6

Post by Redeffer »

Hello.
Did anyone manage to throw 12 sixes in one move? Or 12 ones? Just curious to know.
The probability is extremely low - about 0.0000000459% or 1 / 2,176,782,336.

It's not 12 6s, it's 4 6s!

Then there are 3 ways to split those 4 6s in 2 pairs:
6,6 / 6,6
6,6 / 6,6
6,6 / 6,6

This is where the 12 6s you see come from.

The odds of getting that are 1/6^4 ~ 0.077%

Thanks for the clarification.
Indeed, 4 dice are thrown, I didn’t pay attention to it before.
In any case, the chance is not very big, although certainly higher than I thought :)

And quads comes up usually twice a game on average. But the roller is TOTALLY fair guys, cause computers!
To be clear, if you want the odds on any roll for any quad, that is 1/216 or .46% roughly.

Games of Can't Stop in arena mode probably feature roughly 80-100 rolls, so you'd likely see a quad about every other game.

If you have any good evidence for your claim across a wide sampling of games than perhaps there would be something to be concerned about, but the people claiming the system isn't randomized well have always been shown to be incorrect and generally have a poor understanding of statistics and randomness anyhow.

And are not receptive to being educated about it.

I played a game where I swear the guy rolled 9 sevens in a row - blew me away. :o
Love me some "push yer luck" games. :D

7 is the most common roll obviously.
6+1
5+2
4+3
3+4
2+5
1+6

It's risky, but the odds of throwing 9 sevens in a row are most likely very doable.

Probability to roll a seven is 64.35%.

0.6435^9=1.9%, for each possible serie, for each player (and for both players, but that don't apply much for can't stop).

If a can't stop has like 60 rolls every game (30 each), you get 2*21 starts possible. Which give you 55.18% chance to have that event happening at any point of the game :)

(for one time, I used actual probabilities, and not simulations :D )

Hello Ranior.
I am by no means an expert in statistics. I have some notions but nothing more.

However. Before, placing a chip on 6, another on 7, and another on 8 and winning one of those columns was possible. In two player duels, leaving those three columns free could make you lose any game.

But since the new season started, or a month or two before that, it has become impossible for me. I have NEVER made it.

Is it possible that they have fixed something in random and it is no longer possible to run in 6,7,8?
