Board Game Arena

Good day everyone,

I'm new here and have been playing some games for the past week or so. One thing I've noticed recently is that I randomly got a game of 7 Wonders Duel that had 2 expansions and I'd never seen that happen before. The first 12 games I played were just the base game so I actually didn't realize the expansions were available to play.

I played around a bit, and I did find the toggle that let's me choose if I'm OK playing with expansions or not but I'm still not 100% clear on who chooses which ones to play with and how. If I match with another player and we both have the default settings of playing with whatever, why does it give the base game only? Shouldn't that automatically choose all expansions each time?

The person setting up the game chooses what expansions to include.

It's always chosen the default and less player, the first that you choose if you open the game without make a choice.
When you don't have the default setting, it means that the player in front of you specific choose in the option

Sorry, how does one set up a game? I think most of my problems are related to this. When I choose play now and pick a game, I'm not given an option to start my own game, but just to look for other players. I'm likely missing something obvious.

Set your table settings from Automatic to Manual, and you can open tables yourself.
