open table - auto-match - how to disable?

Hello,
Trying an alpha game with few players, in turn based... I tend to open a table, and wait for someone to potentially join.
Someone else does the same.
... there seems to be an auto-match, and we end up playing together "again", with multiple tables with same opponent at once.
Though, we would both prefer to also have tables opens, so that other players might join us when someone wants to join.
Is it really auto-match, or is the other player explicitly joining my tables? (he just said he is also opening tables...)
Is there a way to disable auto-match, and/or filter so a specific player cannot join the table (automaticly?) ?
