Card Tracker

Post by brother_carfax »

Hi All,

If you enjoy playing K2 in turn-based mode you might like this little aid I've produced. It is a card tracker which allows you to not which cards you and if you like), your opponents have used and the weather tiles. Obviously you wouldn't use this in a face-to-face game, but it seems fair enough to me in a turn-based game. In principle you can see this information in the game log anyway, but I find it a bit easier with this. It's fairly clunky at the moment and I can see ways to improve, but I find it useful.

Similar kind of things have been done for other games, like 7 Wonders (Pythia aid). The staff is aware of it and since all is based on public information, they do not forbid it.

So this is legit IMO.

EDIT: just figured out I anwered 6 months after the last message… Woops!

While we're posting on old threads, just want to note that the designer and publisher of 7 Wonders, as well as the founder and CEO of BGA, have specifically disapproved of the card tracking feature in September 2020, and it was removed from Pythia.

Anyway, in K2 there are 18 cards (9 blue and 9 green).
It's not impossible (and more funny) to store the information in your human memory.
