Is this game well-suited to turn-based play?

I'm looking for a new game to learn and this one looks interesting, although it does have the highest BGG complexity rating of any game I've played.
One thing that worries me a bit is that I play only turn-based games, not real-time, and one of the instructional videos mentioned that players take turns playing one action at a time. Are there a lot of actions per game round? I expect turn-based games (at 4 turns per day) to take a week or two and I'm fine with that but if there will be many tens of actions per person per game, the pace may feel too slow. Any opinions from people who have played?
For what it's worth, I play a lot of Castles of Burgundy and Agricola turn-based and those are fine and the other game I'm thinking of learning as an alternative is Tzolkin.
Thanks,
Jack G.
