Can't get achievements if u started when game was beta?

I noticed in Big Time Soccer for example, there are people who started playing when it was beta who are now top 10 but don't get the top 10 elo badges. However there are other people who played after it released who do get the badges. So how can the old timers get the badges? Even the #1 rank doesn't get anything. is BGA aware of this issue?
