I just played a tournament and i think the skips and tie breakers are not function properly and could be revised. its this tournament: https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=115878

When happens is that in the half final its gives a buy towards 2 players who are not really the favoured players at that point.
1. the skips in a tournament should be given to those who have the highest winrate score in the bracket of that tournament and ties on that should be broken by the use of elo rating.
2. additionally ties for advancing in a bracket ties should be broken on the match history between players in a bracket, because that is the fairest comparison between the 2 players rather than other indirect effects.

Any one else agrees on these changes on multiplayer elimination brackets?

"3 play 2 advance" just doesn't work well as a format. There's no way to play without giving out lots of byes.

Example: You start with 27 players. The next round there are 18 players, no problems so far. Then there are 12 players. Then there are 8 players.

Now things fall apart. There are 2 matches of 3 and 2 byes.

Now you have 6 players, play 2 matches, now you have 4 people left. Now you have 1 match and 1 bye right at the end.

The only multiplayer elimination formats that work well are eliminating half the players each game. I.e. 4 play 2 advance, 6 play 3 advance.

If your tournament is configured "3-4 play 2 advance", then you can always finish the tournament without byes. Same with "4-6 play 3 advance".
