Almost every game, first player chooses braccio.

He seems to be strong on side 1, but with boats I'm not so sure. What do you think?

Unfortunately he's OP on both sides

Before any fireflies or camps his scoring potential is well over 120. His synergy with the other characters is well above the others

I think the biggest issue is the one which gives you a reroll for one green. Get that early and you can pretty much pick and choose your dice

Get any of the other companions which score high for not having a colour i.e. red and light blue for six points and it's pretty much game over

He's not invincible. Orange and blue are ok with the right cards but definitely not as strong. On side one, the early path of greens is a given head start for braccio and his dice

I mentioned my thoughts on this to Thoun early on and I messaged Bombyx to see if they would consider an official variant of random characters so it could be added here.
I have had no reply so far

Hopefully something will change as I think it's a fun game but if does feel uphill towards certain characters which I think will diminish the replay value

Yes, just depends if a) Bga share the data and b) Bombyx want to try balance it

Let's hope it's yes to both of these!

...and if we are adding some variants for a rebalance, if we can have an option to play abyss without the two monster token reward on the second step that would be perfect :p

My best is 178pts and I've been beaten by 182pts from Braccio!

There is now a "Random adventurers" option so you will try other adventurers than Braccio It is not enabled by default, activate it when you create a table to test it !

I just had my own high score yesterday.

196 : 111 with Taetys (Blue) vs Orange.

I often had 140-150 scores, but never that high. Day 1 and 2 Sketal to obtain the extra blue and clear dice, and I controlled the small die to have 8+ dice every roll.
