Save the Forest and its sacred Tree from Onibi's terrible flames.

But how? By planting trees, extinguishing fires, collecting sacred flowers to awaken Sanki…

Four Spirits of Nature– Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn– have been called to rescue the Sacred Tree of the Forest facing the devastating flames of Onibi…

In Living Forest, you play one of these four Spirits of Nature trying to save the Forest. You are not alone in this task, Guardian Animals have come together around the Circle of Spirits where you progress to help you. Each turn they bring precious elements, and if you manage to combine a good team of Guardian Animals, you can perform actions optimally. But beware, some of them are solitary and do not like to meet other fellows.

Each turn includes 3 phases:

Guardian Animals: All of the Spirits of Nature play at the same time. You draw and turn face up, one after the other, the Guardian Animal cards from your personal draw stack. You thus form the Animal Guardian Help Line. You can stop drawing cards whenever you want. However, if you reveal a card showing a third solitary symbol, then you must stop drawing cards. This card closes your Help Line.

Action: The Spirits of Nature play in turn. If your Help Line shows less than three solitary symbols (not canceled by gregarious symbols), you can then perform 2 different Actions. If your Help Line shows three solitary symbols (not canceled by gregarious symbols), you can then perform only 1 Action. The strength of an Action is determined by the number of corresponding Elements visible on the Guardian Animal cards on your Help Line and on your Forest individual board.

End of the turn:
Onibi attacks you: If some Fires remain in the center of the Circle of Spirits and you cannot resist them, then add the same number of Fire Varan cards to your discard stack as there are Fire tiles at the center of the Circle of Spirits.
Onibi attacks the Sacred Tree: Add as many Fires to the center of the Circle of Spirits as Guardian Animal cards were taken this turn.
The arrival of new Guardian Animals: Complete the Guardian Animal reserve by revealing as many new cards per level as there were cards taken this turn.

Last week, Living Forest won the "As d'Or" from the International Boardgame Fair in Cannes, France. And we are happy to share it now with you, thanks to the Ludonaute team, and of course the wonderful work done by our developers, darhf and lordalx. They have done an amazing job publishing this game on our platform and we are more than thankful for their dedication to this great task.

That's it for this Wednesday Release Time!
All around the world, wherever you are, try to care of each other.
There is only one way for all to win: kindness.
See you next week!

I cannot believe you have not included the name of the game author! It's a game by Aske Christiansen.

I've added it as a note of the translator in the Catalan translation, as it is 100% unacceptable to not acknowledge the author.

PS. I think, in fact, it's quite unacceptable that on the games pages there is not the author's names. Really bad on BGA side.

Nice games. Plays well.
First review after a handfull of plays:

1: It can be annoying people can wait to see who stops first, before deciding to push more or not. You dont want people running down the clock.
Not sure how the rulesbook states to handle this problem. Perhaps all cards should be hidden untill you decide to stop.
( Quack of Quedlingburg has the rule in the last round, you all go at the same time on draw/stop. Problem is you don't know when last round is in this game)

2: I would be nice if you get to see both permanent stats, and those from drawn cards.

This is a really fun one, and one of my favorite games to discover on BGA alpha/beta testing.

What's the difference between casual and competitive mode?

I think in casual mode you can see how many "good" and "bad" cards each player has in their deck/discard, and in competitive it doesnt show this.
As people can tally this easily themselves, it might as wel be shown really.

Fully translated to catalan by myself. No clue of that note (don't know if somebody deleted that).

He traduït el joc al català, 100% traducció humana. ¡Espero que en gaudiu!
