Does anyone else love the absurdity of this website?

I was getting so upset in the past because the odds of the outcomes this website distributes is terrible. But I kept playing. I've continued and remain a premium player. I have fun wasting time and playing games. BUT, in Can't Stop the most hilarious thing happened. I was doing well in a game and my opponent was barely on the board. He did the impossible. He won the game in one turn by locking down all three numbers. And locking down all three of these numbers almost from scratch. This was the best!!! I've never seen this before and it was even better happening almost from scratch!!! The odds of this outcome? Who knows. It's something crazy. About as crazy as this website

This repost is about as useless as the original one yesterday. Such threads always can be summarised as whining from ppl that know nothing about statistics, but rather jump on conspiracies whenever they feel like. On top of that, here, „almost from scratch“ is highly exagerated. And you ended all your last turns so early that it just asked for a miracle like this, because he pretty much had no alternative than to push till win or bust.

The absurdity is wonderful! I understand that my stats are quite strongly off. I really do. But irregardless (this is a word damnit!) I do feel the odds are still low and, as such, it is amazing to witness some of these outcomes! Absurdity is what keeps the world spinning, good sir!

More wonderful absurdity! I was trying to figure out how to find old posts from me/old posts from other people but couldn't seem to figure it out. It is fantastically absurd that you put in that much energy to look up and link my old posts! Well done! I'm very happy I can be held responsible for my past. You don't make choices; the choices make you!

I think it is interestingly reflective of my personality. I do everything I can to win/win/win. So it just felt demeaning and undercutting both in the game and in life. I carried it over past the computer and placed an unhealthy amount of weight on a game. Thus forgetting the most important part is that it is a game. I still struggle with similar and the same outcomes. Life is absurd. I'm learning to accept the absurdity.

Is this the game you were talking about?
https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=247650462
After the initial locking in of the numbers 5,7,11, your opponnent needed 14 more rolls (might be less, if a roll hits 2 ropes at once) in order to lock in all ropes.
I ran a little simulation on the odds for this combination of 5,7 and 11. Turns out the chance for a successful roll is about 84%. The chance of succeeding 14 times in a row on 84.3% is 0.843^14 which is about 9.1%.
Of course in the end, when the first 2 ropes are closed, you need an exact hit on the last rope which means last 2-3 have a smaller chance.
But since 7 is included and needs the most hits, let's say you have to close rope 7 last which means chance on the last rolls is ~64% instead of 84%
That sums up to a propability of ~5%
Of course it is much more likely to fail than to win on ~5% so you won't see people trying to roll so many times without stopping very often. But when you are desperate because you are behind so much, you might take the chance. They also had several tries for that as you advanced very slowly in the end.
5% is not even close to a once-in-a livetime propability. It's something that's gonna happen every now and then. So instead of calling it "absurd" you could work on your perception of propability.

Also finding your old post isn't taking much energy either, if you know how to

. Next to every post there's a panel about the person who wrote the post. Just click the number behind "Posts: " and you see all of those.

It is properly absurd that you calculated the odds of the outcome of a game I am not sure was correct or not. Properly absurd!

It might be absurd for you but I sometimes enjoy scripting simulations in my free time

. I can apply it for another can't stop game without effort, if it wasn't the correct one btw
