Table timing out before invited friend can join

How long are tables open now? The friend most frequently play with is in another time zone and we are seldomly in sync.
It seems the the tables are being wiped after 10 minutes; that is not enough time for someone to respond. It's seemingly impossible to connect at the moment.
Did something change? If so, can we make it's user definable setting?
