So I registered to the tournament thinking it was gonna be one game at a time,, but right now the system has registered me to 11 games I think. I feel this is kinda too much. Is this normal ? Where can I see more details of how the tournament is structured ?

Sounds like a Round-Robin tournament.

Hold on to your hat ;)

Normal? That depends on the frequency at which tournament organizers (regular players like you and me) choose the Round Robin format compared with the other two formats (Swiss and Single Elimination). As a regular player, I have no data on this. :-)

More details? Here's the tournament page on which you initially registered: https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=117410

You'll notice that "Mode of stage 1" and "Mode of stage 2" both state "Round robin". This format has player X play all other players within the group concurrently, not sequentially as you stated was your expectation. The other two formats have sequential games.

If it helps, I'll offer this personal anecdote: I likewise was utterly surprised by this format the first time I registered for one such tournament, and the experience taught me a few things:

1) pay close attention to the tournament's mode(s)
2) pay close attention to the "Time allotted to each player"—playing 30+ Carcassonne games with only 48 hours for all my moves was rough. Remember that BGA attracts players from all over the world; if one takes a turn right after you go to sleep, you could end up losing 8+ hours off your clock.
3) BGA has horrible documentation on its tournament formats. :-p Even when I set up a few tournaments after having played in several by that point, a number of the tournament configuration options were unclear to me.

Hope you find this useful!
