Why are mute feature requests being ignored

I've found many threads requesting this and they are locked.

Many players are abusive in chat and even after red thumbing them they can continue to do so in the table group chat even after the game has ended and others try to leave. Even if someone has taken -20 karma just to get away from them

This verbal abuse is rampant and reporting it isn't effective.

We need an option to mute someone during a game and have it take effect immediately

You've fled the table over 25 times in the last two months. I don't want to make excuses for players without culture, but maybe it's your behavior that is the problem. Even recently, you've been fined by moderation.

leaving the table so often should be punished with a temporary ban, not just a reduction of reputation by -20.

I totally agree with everything you have written Ze Monstah.

A player should have the option to disable chat.

Ze Monstah, I would gladly give you a Green Thumb for your comment if I could.

I agree a player should have the option to mute a chat, but the other players need to be aware!
In the chat, you see Player X has joined the game, etc... you'd also see Player X has muted the chat. This way, if a player does not respond to chat messages, you know why.

muting a specific player, is iffy, that player should also be made aware, but they'd know they were muted specifically, and that's tricky.
