How useful it would be to see statistics for games

I recently lost to my wife at a game of Tapestry and began wondering if my Civilization card was weaker than hers. Then I went on BGG and saw a thread about the winning odds of each civilization card. The info shared was prone to the error of players playing wrong and inexperience etc. I then began to wonder how useful it would be if all the games on BGA could share these stats, surely the info is right there to be used, from thousands of players. Does this info get shared with the developers? because it's a goldmine of info for playtesting purposes, they can fast track thousands of games that would take months of playtesting. At the very least it would give us some kind of idea for specific strategies, and if I'm just wasting my time pursuing a specific strategy from the start.
