Inactivity Warning Notice

I am accessing the BGA site using Google Chrome.
Why is an Inactivity Warning Notice provided when I navigate away to other tabs for other purposes, waiting for activity from others on the games I am playing. The only response I am able to provide is "Duly Noted" and then everything continues as expected. Are there any adverse affects due to Inactivity? What purpose does the warning serve? What should I, as a turn based player, do differently? I do not want to close the active window I am playing from ... I am simply waiting for my turn. I find the warning obstructive, but I do not understand the purpose or need for it, or what I would do differently.
If it was meant to prompt the user that the screen may need to be refreshed to reflect the latest game play situation, I think it could be better worded to be more advisory, than confrontational, and to indicate the intended purpose.

When you are using BGA, it's constantly communicating. Watching for other player's turns, checking the chat doobers, etc. If you don't interact with the page for a bit, it pauses all that to save BGA resources. No need to keep using traffic and power on a connection when the person has walked away.
The pop-up is so that you can let the site know you are back, so that it can start doing all those important things again. I don't find the wording offensive, but I suppose it could be clearer.

The Warning wording IS offensive and confrontational, to the point where the player feels as if something else SHOULD have been done. The warning serves no purpose, nor offers any clarification on why or what the implications might be for having let the screen go stale. If you're telling me that in the age of 2022, the BGA user community doesn't yet know that their screen may be stale since last visiting, I think BGA has misjudged it's user base internet skills.
I suggest the Warning should be disabled completely (since it is not required), or as a minimum, the message changed to nudge the user to be aware that the view and notifications may need to be refreshed.
I would argue the resources to send out the warning is probably more than simply keeping the notifications active in the first place? Don't users have control over their own notification preferences anyway (either push or pull, on or off)? (OK admittedly, I'm talking out of my butt here, but c'mon, I don't need a screen refresh warning)

The message has changed.
As a user, your browser keeps a connection alive to the BGA site. So even if idle you are using resources. For things like, it's now your turn, and general chat and the like. This timeout when idle simply disconnects you. Clicking the message re-establishes the connection.

I don’t get a warning on my iOS phone browser. What’s the difference?

It's mainly when you are idle. When you're actively playing it's not applicable.
Maybe when you're idle, the browser tab may sometimes reload?

It just comes back to the fact that the warning is not needed in either case.

Do you mean it would be ok for you, if the page would still look the same just without any changes and you wouldn't be notified when it's your turn in a game, when you get a message or a notification and also you are shown offline for others? Because I wouldn't expect that without any note/warning.
But a bigger button to get back online would be nice...
