In RR, once you place your workers you're under no obligation to spend your coins; however, the game will return to you and you must pass even if all you have is coins. There are situations where after I place my last worker, I know I will not be spending coins. If I could specify an automatic action of "Not spending coins for additional actions" it would allow the turn-based game to skip past me when it's my turn. If I want to reserve the option, I leave this unchecked.
I would still obviously be prompted to play my turn order pawn, if I had bid for first/second.
In Puerto Rico, also on BGA, there are "Automatic actions" players can switch on to expedite. Same idea.
RR is implemented well. Thanks to the developers who did this.
