Concealed dice

People hate on dice because they introduce an element of luck, expressing a conditioned or predictable reaction.
Players who aren't bothered by the dice play a much better game...why bother visualizing dice?
Take the dice out of the game. If you don't see the dice, you will not be bothered by the dice.
Difference being game of dice vs game of skill.

I don‘t know that game at all, but BGA always implements the game as close to the official hard copy version as possible. So if the real game has this bit of luck due to dice rolling, the BGA implementation (always) will have it too.

It might help people to account for the odds when they see the dice. In a game where you roll 2 dice and end up with results adding up to between 2-12, you realize that rolling 2 or 12 have the lowest odds, and 7 the highest odds.
If they don't see the dice, they will just think it's a random number generator that picks any number 2-12 with equal odds.

What are you talking about ?? It makes no sense to say removing the dice animation in memoir44 will change anything to the luck feeling of the game. It is a luck based game, if you dont like that, play another war game.

In addition to what was said by others, having visual dice will remind people that there is another element affecting the outcome of the game. IE, two tables with identical gamestates exist. The same move is made on both tables. The resulting gamestates are different. Without seeing the dice (or being aware of them) there would be confusion about why this would happen.
Also, you seem to believe that if there is luck involved, there is no skill. The top backgammon players in the world would strongly disagree with this statement. The skill lies in managing the probabilities of luck.

I thought that might be the case.
So if the real game has this bit of luck due to dice rolling
There's a big difference between Computer generated dice and physically rolling the dice.
Displaying Computer generated Dice can be use as a "scapegoat" of sorts. Simply having the dice
displayed introduce a
element of luck.
Just the mention of the word 'dice' War gamers develop a reaction...expressing a conditioned or predictable reaction. Tabletop,
dice games might have been more of a neutral stimulus for players to enjoy? Computer dice, you have no physical interaction whereby players will most likely develop a learned response to a previously neutral stimulus.
Without the dice factor (dice being displayed for players to see) the game would produce better players...better Defense better Assaults and a better attitude.
Dats a fact!
Also, you seem to believe that if there is luck involved, there is no skill.
Not at all. Of course there is luck involved. I'm talking about the difference in playing Risk or any other game that displays much dice vs games that don't display dice.
The top backgammon players in the world would strongly disagree with this statement. The skill lies in managing the probabilities of luck.
Backgammon is a game of dice...you literally 'play the dice'.

Eliminate the dice, what do you have? Display the dice, what do you have...players intentionally choosing not to use their ability.
It is a luck based game
If you play it as a game of dice that is all it will ever be...a game of dice.
if you don't like that, play another war game.
yes, I am playing the same game as you...all the while playing an entirely different game than you.
One plays the probabilities of luck - playing the odds - the other plays a game of skill and daring!
(do you fell lucky - well do ya! Challange?)
I'm trying to get away from opponents always quoting the dice rolls
Example: 12 dice and one hit Pffft! It really spoils the game. Don't consider the dice, it will spoil the game for you.
Played many of War game, tis better if you don't acknowledge da dice.
having visual dice will remind people that there is another element affecting the outcome of the game.
Exactly! that's my point...too many players run with the Dice strategy, and that's all they know...beginning, during and after the game...always focused on the dice.
There is already a dice version of this game, do we need another? switch it up. Dice being displayed - Players are prone to attack rather than play defensively? Minimize the dice will minimize the luck (dice strategy) factor...turning it into a serous War game.
This is a new game for BGA. Players constantly crying about the dice make it not worth playing.
Just throwing my two cents in. Hoping to bring new life back into an old game.

Probably ok, won‘t make a difference either way.
