How does East invaded works?

Hi, i have a question on how the EI event is implemented, or if i missed a rule (again).

I have a game where as the Axis, i prepared to USSR invasion by massing troops at the border, while my oponant keeps their units a little further.
Displacing a unit (from Bessarabia to Poland) by clicking directly to its final destination, i saw (quite horrified) the unit taking a shortcut within USSR territory.
I canceled the move, re-did my movement taking a safe way. No conditional event seems to have been triggered so far.

From rule 13.3, East Invaded occurs when “an Axis unit […] moves into […] USSR”.
The way i understand this makes me believe i made a huge mistake.
Shall my move have been a “not-cancelable” one?
What would have happened if i did not cancel it?

I don’t know if i am misinterpreting the rules, or if i deceived the game implementation :)

Look at the log after your move - it will have a bold message telling you East Invaded if you triggered the event.

The table number is:
262066907
and the game move was maybe 1613 (how can i be sure?)
It was with ROM3 moving in 2939 then 2837, starting from 3242 i believe.
It is clearly writthen in the log i canceled my initial move.
The game continued and there was no East Invaded (nor in the log). :)

So the cancel button seems quite strong.
But we agree that passing through (without stopping in) USSR should trigger EI?

Since unit routes are decided by the route-finding mechanic and that occasionally makes errors I think it is best Undo would be usable on them. Activating East First too early can be bad enough to warrant resigning between relatively equal players.
