Winning as renegade is really difficult and cannot be achieved by luck unlike all the other winning situations. Therefore why the numbers of points awarded is not much higher?

That's how BGA is programmed, ELO is handled by the BGA interface, all the Bang interface is able to do give the final ranking.

Now I agree that winning with Renegade is far harder, and deserves better scoring just like the real game does, but the ELO disadvantage you have on BGA is the same for all players, just like the odds of being Renegade is also the same for all players.

Bottomline, as a Renegade you are screwed in the scoring, but so is everyone else which evens it out.

BGA does the same thing in other games where the chances of winning vary significantly with role, e.g. Noir.

I guess they figure altering the algorithms game by game would be too much hassle.

I also have a question related to this topic. Is everything ok with the ELO points system? There are few "strong" players (300+ ELO) and not a single "master" or "expert". How it works?

There are masters and experts in some games, mostly strategic ones.

In a (partly) luck-based game, it's hard to win consistently enough to advance your ELO that much though.

That is actually not right. Better rated players get punished much harder for losing with Renegade then weaker players. This might be one of the reasons why there are no very high rated players in Bang.
