I would really like a "fair play" option to be implemented on CATAN, that would, if checked, prevent the robber to be put on anyone that has only 2 pts.

Getting the robber at start feels really bad and breaks the whole game...

i came on here to say this same thing. "friendly robber" is what we call it. but yes, it would help the game go faster at the beginning

Ditto. +1 for the friendly robber variant. It's an official variant listed in the rules of the base game and hopefully simple to implement.

Note it applies to 2 visible points, vp cards hidden in hand do not count as the purpose of the variant is to allow all players to get a start at production.

7s rolled still make people ditch cards if more than 7 in hand, but if no-one can be robbed (no one with more than 2 visible VP) the person can reroll.
