Board Game Arena

There must be something about scoring in Hawaii which I am not understanding. In this game, at the end of the first round, before anyone has moved at the beginning of the second round, the score is 14 to 5. But as far as I can tell, it should be 12 to 5.

I calculate twelve points based on:

4 points the player had by the end of round one,
plus 8 points the player earned for having the largest purchase token total.

Where did the extra two points come from?

Never mind, I figured it out--they took a spear token on their last move.
