Alla fine di una partita ho detto "what a luck" ad un giocatore. Purtroppo il modo di dire "what a luck" più diffuso in italiano è "che culo" che se si è ignoranti nella lingua italiana e si traduce con google translate risulta "that butt". Cosa che ovviamente non significa nulla in quel contesto.

A causa di questo mi è stata assegnata una punizione di 10 punti di karma ma soprattutto mi è stata bloccata la possibilità di usare in qualsiasi modo il sito (e i miei benefici di supporter per i quali pago da anni) a meno che io non accetti di promettere di "non rifare mai più la stessa cosa".

Ovviamente non posso promettere di "non rifare mai più la stessa cosa": come in qualsiasi tavolo di gioco dire "what a luck" è una cosa che può succedere e succede di frequente senza alcun problema.

Questo è il mio caso personale che ha poca o nessuna importanza.

Quel che voglio invece chiedere è: è normale ed è giusta questa procedura? Esiste anche una possibilità di appello. Ho effettuato l'appello. Non sarebbe corretto attendere il risultato dell'appello prima di comminare la pena?
Quanto dura l'attesa per questo misterioso"appello"? Nel mio caso siamo a 9 giorni e non ho avuto ancora nessun tipo di risposta.

Non credo sia giusto, in generale, non solo nel mio caso.

The exact same saying for luck exists in French and is commonly used, but I would not use it on BGA or in an international context, because it's vulgar (even if commonly used) and as such it can hurt the sensibilities of someone.

Because you should consider this: if you got moderated, it's because you got reported. If you got reported, it's because you shocked someone. So you should definetely be moderated for that, in order to be more careful of your discourse in public. You should be aware that your words can shock people (including when google translating) from a less colloquial culture and you should definitely mind your language.

So this moderation is perfectly appropriate, a 10 karma penalty very light and just a warning. Yes, it is fair and correct.

My advice if you are ready to hear it is to accept the reprimand, understand that you should be more careful when expressing yourself in public and in international contexts, click OK on the moderation page to acknowledge that you understand the issue and will try to do better in the future, and move on.

I'll also use this occasion to remind everyone that the forum is not a proper venue for appealing moderation in any way, wastes valuable time (mine today) and can get you moderated more strongly.

PS: just noticing your username "NotAllGamesAreGG", and I would add that it may feel a little questionable about the spirit in which you engage into games, and make you feel unfriendly to other players. So overall, I would advise you in general to think about the way you choose to present yourself to the world. It might help you improve your relationships with others in a big way.
