Who is the first player?

Hi,
Is there a way, when the game starts with the light speed mode, to know who is the first player?
I would like to use this information to know whether keeping part of the 15 gold to buy a L2 or L3 card is a good option or not.

In the light speed variant, the player who keeps the most money is first player. If there is a tie, the highest sector card from tied players goes first. If still tied, then there is a dice roll (random).

Note that Jertian's answer is the way it should work according to the rules. It's not the way it actually works at present, and there is an open bug report about that.

I still can't believe how the premium game could have been finished the Beta stage with a bunch of very common, well known, crucial and unfixed bugs
