can we resume an accidentally abandoned game?

Post by eric-the-ted »

I was playing a no-time-limit real-time game (City of the Big Shoulders) with friends when we reached the end of the evening and decided to come back another evening. Usually we'd switch to turn-based, but since we agreed we'd rather reconvene to finish this one, we didn't do that this time. I think we've gotten away with this before because I stay logged in, but due to a power outage my connection was dropped, and the game was automatically abandoned.

Is there any way to resurrect this game and pick up where we left off?

Short answer is no.
You can still play turn based games in real-time. You should have switched anyway.

I believe real time tables time out if all players are logged out for 4 hrs or maybe it was if there's no activity for 4hrs. Not sure exactly where I read that though. It fits with my experience - I had a solo training game of pandemic going, had to do some stuff and planned to come back to it later but it had disappeared. Now I start any solo game in turn based mode so it won't time out if I have to interrupt it to do some stuff.
