Board Game Arena

Do the ages end when no more areas are available to pillage or when everyone is out of rage or whichever comes first? I can't seem to find out in the rules and thought everyone had to be out of rage but at one point the age was over while I still had rage to play. Thanks if anyone knows this offhand.

I do find its placement in the rule book to be in a slightly hard to find place on page 14. It's also on the summary page 24.
