Location card won’t pick up on iPad

I play this game on iPad and every time, the location cards are almost impossible to pick up.
I move the screen about, enlarge, shrink etc but no joy. Occasionally it randomly works. But by and large I can’t play the game due to this fault and I get timed out and given a penalty.
