Is there a way to have the game skip the Opportunist (when a power card is revealed, player gets a change to buy it immediately) option if the player with that card doesn't have the energy to buy it?

Yes, just activate the skip impossible actions on your tables. There is no point in keeping it disabled once you know the game well enough. It's here by default so beginners won't think we skipped an action but mistake
