Board Game Arena

As in the Oceania Expansion Variant, I would prefer an option removing Chihuahuan Raven and Common Raven.
Basically they are auto-win cards.

And if anyone has a connection to the publisher or designer, please talk to them about this, having their approval for implementing a banlist is critical for getting it onto BGA.

Yes, but how does one go about registering disagreement? :-p

How is this any different than other community game variants - for example, switching factory / university costs in Puerto Rico?

Its different, because you're not changing rules, or using different expansions, you're removing specific cards! Which are certainly not auto-wins if they come out late in the game, and probably not autowins either for certain players. Its often the combo of say Raven and Killdeer/Francis Gull that is close to an unstoppable powerhouse.

I mean where does it stop, will someone then want to take out the next most powerful card ... in their opinion?

The problem might be solved, by adding the Euro expansion, and maybe others, which will reduce the chance of these combos occurring, and add extra strategic options, not necessarily focused around a grasslands egg generation engine.

Plus if you see Killdeer/Francis Gull/Ravens and the other one I can't remember, try to get them first! Or don't let someone take both if possible!
Anyway luck is a factor in the game, although it may be reduced by seeing more cards ... in itself a strategy.

I have spoken with the publisher, who has approved of a game option on BGA to exclude the Chihuahuan Raven, Common Raven, Franklin's Gull, and Killdeer from the bird deck. This has now been implemented.
