No Tiles in Display

I'm going first in our game and it says I must place a tile; however, there are no tiles being displayed to choose from. This on both the PC and iOS.

I haven't played in a while, so I don't remember the exact interface, but all tiles are the same, so I don't think it gives you one to pick from.
You probably just touch on the playing area to place it.

Tried playing today, says I need to place a tile, won't let me place a tile and I can't see my opponent's tile that he placed either. I was kicked from the game due to the time limit.
