House Wren action is:

When played, play a 2nd bird in your Grasslands or Forest.
Pay its normal cost.

I played the House Wren in the Forest, with the intention of playing my 2nd bird (Purple Martin) in the Grasslands.
Game only gave me the option to place a bird in the Forest, and I wasn't able to use it because Purple Martin can't go into the Forest.

Does House Wren only allow you to play the 2nd card in the same row as the House Wren?
Then what happened would make sense.

According to the appendix: "Play another bird into the same habitat".
