How Is Average Thinking Time Computed?

How is average thinking time computed? It seems grossly overestimated.
In my last game of beyond the Sun, my thinking time was 14:57, and I know my thinking time is usually well below 30 mins, but my Average Thinking Time for Beyond the Sun is 1379.86 mins. Is this actually in seconds? ..because when I divide by 60, it seems about right.
